Fundamentals of Anatomy & Physiology 7th Edition

Fundamentals of Anatomy & Physiology, Seventh Edition features enhancements to its award-winning art program and time-saving pedagogy. The coordination between narrative discussions and corresponding art has been tightened to improve clarity. The clear, concise explanations lead readers through complex processes, helping them keep sight of the big picture without getting lost in the details.
From this book you can learn about An Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology, The Chemical Level of Organization, The Cellular Level of Organization, The Tissue Level of Organization, The Integumentary System, Osseous Tissue and Skeletal Structure, The Axial Skeleton, The Appendicular Skeleton, Articulations, Muscle Tissue, The Muscular System, Neural Tissue, The Spinal Cord and Spinal Nerves, The Brain and Cranial Nerves, Neural Integration I: Sensory Pathways and the Somatic Nervous System, Neural Integration II: The Autonomic Nervous System and Higher Order Functions, The Special Senses, The Endocrine System, Blood, The Heart, Blood Vessels and Circulation, The Lymphatic System and Immunity, The Respiratory System, The Digestive System, Metabolism and Energetics, The Urinary System, Fluid, Electrolyte, and Acid-Base Balance, The Reproductive System, Development and Inheritance.
But, if you actually buy this book you're paying for the illustrations. Don't waste your time actually reading it, the presentation of the material is ponderous and completely unimaginative. Do not expect to receive what you are promised for your purchase. The company do not make good on their promise to allow you access to use their website. They provided the professor an invalid access code. You can only have access if you send them more money to purchase access.
A more serious omission is the absence of the x chromosome from the glossary though that y is there, unconsciously reinforcing that men are incomplete females? Males come equipped with beefed up sixpacks whereas the women look like demure little housewives. Artists have tried to depict other races but the gender representation is pathetic. A heterosexist pro-male interpretation of human sexuality is found throughout the book, which can be annoying. Some of the comments obviously written with students in mind are patronizing. The layout is repetitious and at times quite unstimulating. The best detail was why a chicken breast is white considering its muscle. How can this really be an Anatomy and Physiology textbook written by a PhD? There is not one picture or drawing of a male foreskin (prepuce).
