For practicing laboratorians and other allied health professionals, the book may serve as a valuable reference about new developments in the field of immunology. All chapters have been updated to include new information about the immune system as well as new treatments for immunological diseases. Two new chapters have been added. They include: automated assays, emphasizing flow cytometry (Chapter 12), and serology of bacterial infections (Chapter 19). The chapter on fungal and parasitic infections has beenexpanded (Chapter 20), as well as the chapter on molecular techniques (Chapter 19).
